Wood- and stonecarving in the seven mountains-Siebengebirge Sculpture Courses in Germany The skyline of Siebengebirge
- i.e. seven hills – is the Romantic Rhine Valley at its best.
It is here where one of the loveliest areas of Germany begins. Löwenburg
is situated in the middle of one of the oldest Natural
Forest Reservations. Second of the seven hills, at a height of
455 m, it offers a splended panoramic view overlooking the
mounainous Eifel as
far as to the area around Cologne. With its
many castle ruins and e.g. the famous Rock of
Loreley, the Middle Rhinevalley belongs
to Germany´s touristic highlights. The nearby cities of Cologne
and
of Bonn offer many sights to be visited, like Beethoven´s
birthplace, the governmental buildings of the former capital
city with its renowned museums, Roman churches,
not to speak of famous Cologne Cathedral. In the traditional
orchard of Löwenburger Hof you are invited to
take part in one of our sculpture courses. You may discover
there - in a relaxed atmosphere – your own creative talents by
working with stone or wood. The courses are
open to beginners as well as to more advanced sculptors, aged
over 16, but if accompanied by an adult, younger persons aged
over 13 are admitted. We teach basic
techniques of sculpturing, abstract or figurative work, in
accompanying you in your individual development and the
realization of your ideas in different materials. You can choose
among various kinds of stone or wood. All necessary tools will
be provided. The aim of the
courses is to accomplish one piece of personal work. In a space
of three square metres, reserved to each participant, you will
work protected under a tent. Come in weather
proof clothing and don’t forget to bring along a maximum of
enthusiasm! On the last day a
party will be organized, where family and friends will be
welcome as guests. During the courses
German and English is spoken. In order to assure
individual coaching and concentrated work, the total number of
participants is limited to 15 persons. Accomodation
facilities wIt will be our
pleasure to help in finding a convenient hotel or guest rooms,
or a holiday appartement, as there are many possibilities for
tourists available in the Siebengebirge area. |
